Default Update my Hoyt?

Hello, I wanted to know if it was possible to change out my 2002 cybertech cams to the new cam & 1/2 and if so would it be a very good idea? Thanks LittleTree25

I have heard of others doing this, but it seemed quite expensive. I would only make the conversion if you really like the Cam 1/2 system and the draw that you get. I have been shooting a bow with a Cam 1/2 clone system (it looks almost identical). I have a hard time enjoying the increased draw weight "hump" that comes about 2/3 of the way through the draw, and the fact that there really is not much of a distinct valley, just a slope and stop. Many guys like that feel, I prefer having more of a valley like the Hoyt Redline cams or the Jennings PWC. It all comes down to personal preference. If you are sure you like the feel of the Cam 1/2s that much, then the expense might be worth it.

It can be done but the cost assoicated with it is expensive. You'll need new cams (80-120.00) New strings (50-70.00) And I would also highly recommend have a good shop do the work. Easier soluton, put it on ebay and then buy yourself a used Cybertec. I have a 03' and it is a sweet shooting bow.

You most likely will need new limbs as well to get the same peak weight. Then whatever labor charge is involved for doing the work.

It's almost never worth trying to convert a Hoyt ($-wise) because they have so many limb deflections and cam sizes.
