Cleaning arrows after a pass through
What's your particular approach? Quick rinse and back in the quiver, or more thorough cleaning?
Does your approach change if you shoot feathers? |
RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I take the broadhead off and clean it thoroughly but the shaft gets a quick rinse. Last fall I had an arrow with a little dried blood on my vanes. I do make it a point to inspect the shaft well for any cracks or splinters (I shoot carbon) more for safety than anything else.

RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I just use warm soapy water !! With feathers I just hit them with steam after they are about 50- 75% dry ......and they are back as good as new (maybe a little discolored :D) !!
I shot 2 or 3 deer and a big racoon with the same arrow/feather fletchings, and broadhead a couple of seasons back......it was kind of cool !! ;) |
RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I would take off the broadhead and run warm soap water thru the incert. Next I would inspect the arrow while getting the xtra dirt and blood off.

RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I use rubbing alcohol 91%

RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I use warm soapy water. If I have enough of them I just put them in a bath tub and do them all at once.

RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I retire the arrow & broadhead.
It did it's job, I'm happy :) |
RE: Cleaning arrows after a pass through
I just lick em clean then put em back in my Quiver.[:-]:D
If I don't feel like licking I just retire them for the season like Jeff. I don't have to worry about cleaning my feathers - shooting the fast light setup I do - my feathers never come close to reaching the blood and passing thru;) |

If I had as much money as Rack and JeffB, that's what I would do too:D
