Using Fletchless Shafts for Tuning?

I recently bought a new xtec and was having a serious difficulty reading the paper when tuning. This is not the first bow I ve tuned so was a little dumb founded. I tried what I read in an article about using bare shafts and to me after doing both seems like a much easier and more accurate approach then paper. Has anyone had any experience with the latter method. I'm really looking for some feedback and maybe advice

The thing most people neglect when bareshafting is the fact that having no fletching on the arrow moves their FOC way forward. You need to wind a couple of wraps of duct tape around the back end of the bare shaft to correct for that.

Other than that, I think bareshafting is as good as paper tuning for establishing a starting point for a good tune job. Probably a little better for fingers shooters than release shooters though.
