STRING LOOP

RE: STRING LOOP

I have a string loop on my bow, don't really know to many cons, but i really like mine. I know a couple of people that have the metal or plastice loops, what ever they are made of, anyways. They seem to make there bow a little louder. Not to sure if that is it, but my string on mine dose not seem to make any noise!

RE: STRING LOOP

been using one for 6 years no cons except the minimal speed loss, my accuracy has improved and arrow doesnt fall off as much if you turn or whatever while hunting! Good luck

Pros::)
Your release is directly behind your nock.
No nock pinch.
No serving wear.
Improved arrow flight.
Can be easier to tune your bow because of the above.

Cons:[:'(]
?

RE: STRING LOOP

Got to agree with the opinions above, there`s alot of pros and the only con I can think of is if your bow can`t shorten it`s draw length you might find your drawing a little long. Not much but someone had to think of something;).

RE: STRING LOOP

Turk_man,
a string loop will not change your draw length...it only changes your anchor point

RE: STRING LOOP

Ah, but mlauber how many like to change their anchor point? I would be hard pressed if asked to change mine. I spec my bows draw length with my anchor point in mind.

RE: STRING LOOP

Turk,
Then the answer is to have an adjustable release that can take up the extra 1/4 - 1/2 "
For this reason I shoot with the Scott Little Bitty Goose which you can use the rope to adjust the length and thereby adjust your anchor point.:)

RE: STRING LOOP

Thanks guys. I put one on and it did change my anchor point but I will compensate for it with my relaese. I have yet to shoot it through a crono but I suspect the speed change is not an issue. It has not changed my POI. Thanks.

A loop does not change your anchor point - eye to peep, kisser to lip, nose to string, feather in mouth...etc.

It will change how far your hand lays on your face, and how far your drawing shoulder and elbow rotate.

Much better shortening up the release head than shortening draw length.

Your release is directly behind your nock.
Not picking on you:D:D but I disagree with this also........
A loop will cause your release head to sit ABOVE your nock at full draw - take a look;)
To get it directly behing the nock you need to add a long string nock below the nock to move that lower knot down.
