Vital bow gear trapper sight
I stopped by the local shop yesterday to check out sights as my trophy ridge just doesn't seem as bright anymore. I was real impressed with Vital bow gear's trapper sight which is a three or five vertical pin sight with something like three feet of fiber optic per pin. The guy at the shop took it in a dark corner and the pins were still blazing! About the only drawback I can find is there are no marks on the sight to measure gang adjustments (like the trophy ridge and some other sights have). Anybody have any thoughts on these?

RE: Vital bow gear trapper sight
Bill,
I dont have the one you mentioned, but I do have the Vital Bow Proslide which is the single vertical pin type. I can say that its one of the brightest that I had seen and works great! However, you are right about the markings, or lack of....... that would be a good addition. I had it in my case which was slightly open when my wife saw it and told me that I left the light on and had better turn it off before the battery drained:D I had to explain that it didnt have a battery! Keith |
RE: Vital bow gear trapper sight
I own and shoot with a 3 ring trapper. What an awesome site! The site also comes in a 1 pin model. I bought the 3 ring and removed the front sight with the level on it. Now it is a two ring trapper. I shoot one pin at 25yds and the other at 35yds.
The sight as I'm sure you noticed is well built. Almost 99% metal construction makes it rugged. It adjust very easily and as you mentioned is extremely bright. I shoot often in the fading light of evenings and am convinced that may be the brightest sight on the market that dosn't use a light. (they do however make a light for it) The only Issue I've ever heard of with VBG sights is the plastic wrap that cover the fiberoptic strand has come off. It hasn't happened to me and mine is in great condition. The shop that informed me of the issue also said VBG was very quick to resolve the issue. I did need to get a spacer plate for my bow so that I could adjust my pins far enough right. That has been my only issue and it was remedied with a $2.50 spacer. |

Trapper is the best in Vertical pins, real bright and metal.
I have shot it for a while now. My Dealer sells a bunch of these. |
RE: Vital bow gear trapper sight
I bought the 3 ring Trapper with all green pins for my elk hunt. I want something that is idiot proof (for me:D ) and this fits the bill. I will have it set for something like, 20, 30, 40. I have the adjustable also from them on my back up bow.

RE: Vital bow gear trapper sight
I totally agree that these are the brightest pins I have ever seen, without batteries, LOL. I have the proslide aperture on my Cobra Easyslide sight, and it works perfectly. Just a bolt on addition to the perfect sight, IMHO. Be safe.
