Feather fletching.

Can feathers be glued on straight or do they need to be offset? I'll be shooting fixed blade broadheads with them this fall if it works out. Also, if I have right wing feathers does the offset hafta be right or can I go either way? Im not talking helical just a couple degrees.

Thanx.

They can be set offset or straight. But, if you go right, you need a right wing feather, left you need a left wing. If your going to shoot fixed blade BHs then it would be a good idea to offset them. Doesnt matter which way, i like right though.

Thanx Hunter9022.

Thats what I thought. I'm getting a bit of fletching contact on the cables, as the feathers are a little wider than the vanes I was using. It looks as if if they were offset left they might just clear. I just got 150 rights though so I think I may look for a slightly thicker cable guide & see if that helps.

Leverdude......I had the same issue with cable contact on my Hoyt. I changed to the Sims teflon cable guard (just a bit lower profile than the stock Hoyt) and the problem went away.
