I have a easton draw length arrow & AMO bear draw check bow .when checking draw w/arrow it comes up with 27"s & i shoot a 28"arrow, checking w/bow it says 28.5"s i checked with tape arrow matches tape
is there two ways of checking draw?

RE: draw length

You can measure your wing span and at 71inches= 28inch draw. For every inch either way you add or subtract a 1/2 inch. My wingspan is 75inches so my draw is 30 inches.

Good Luck

c4extrem,

AMO drawlength is measured from the apex of the bowstring to the throat of your grip (the deepest part)at full draw and then add 1.75". The length of your arrow doesn't matter too much, this is because of the placement of your rest and the setup of the bow. For example, I shoot a 29" draw, but a 28.5" arrow and could cut off about a half inch more if I wished. The Easton drawlength arrow is a good tool, but is generally used with fingers. It will get you somewhat close, but I think the wingspan method is better. The distance between your fingertips at shoulder height, minus 15" divided by two. This method will get you close, but there are some variances for your individual body shape.

Aim Hard!

I have a 74 1/2" wingspan and shoot a 31" arrow using an Ultra-Nok XL. Works great for me and I don't have to worry about my knuckles dragging.
