Bow Tuning Question?????
 

Easton's tuning guide says to adjust the knocking point to fix high and low tears on paper tuning. Is it OK to move the rest in the opposite direction instead? Do you guys bare shaft tune before or after paper tuning? Is it necessary to do both? Thanks in advance for any information.

Generally people paper tune first then bareshaft tune. I skip the paper now, I can get it close enough without the paper. Its not necessary to do both. Its a big debate on whether to move the rest or the nock, some say this some say that I say who cares.:D

I paper tune first and now I'm trying to bare shaft tune, but am having problems with that. I've been told you can move either the nock or the rest with the same results.

902; I like to keep my shaft centered through the rest mounting hole. Depending on type of rest I'm shooting, I usually make the larger adjustments to nock set and fine adjustments at the rest. Rest adjustments are fine as long as you don't create a different set of problems.

If you are moving the rest in small increments to vertically to compensate for nock height, go for it. I have been doing so for years. That is the beauty of rests with micro vertical and horizontal adjustment.

I am with c903. What is the snese in spending money on a micro rest if you ain't gonna use it?
