broadhead for turkey

OK all. I've decided this year that I am going turkey hunting with my Hoyt, or not at all! I've heard it is best if the arrow stays in the bird, is this true, and if so, how do I ensure that?
Also, any head recommendations?

Put a big hole where it needs to be and he's not going anywhere. Check out the Rocket Slammerheads and Hammerheads, they'll stone 'em!!!

Mobowhuntr! I use 100gr Gobbler Getter's from spitfire and i back them with muzzy grass hopper's . the grass hopper's help keep the arrow in the bird so as not to pass completely through.

RE: broadhead for turkey

I am currently testing the Gobbler Guillotine with the matching Arrow Dynamics, 'Nitro Stinger' shafts, 32" in length and weights 329 grains 'without' the broadhead. With a 100 grain Guillotine the complete shaft weights 429 grains.
This shaft is tapered, the thicker end at the broadhead and the narrower end at the nock and is fletched with (3) right helical 5" feathers, which has just enough clearance to pass thru my NAP Quik Tune 3000 rest.
The above combination at 20 yards, under 'perfect conditions', drops just 1.5" below the center of the target--compared to the GT 3555--355 grain, 3" fletched--27.5" length arrows. For almost 74 grains difference, this 1.5" variance is quite acceptable for me.
I have not tested this beyond 20 yards as yet, as I will be restricting my shots to 20 yards-- due to the fact, with the Nitro Stinger & Guillotine combination, the target is the turkey's neck (jugular) or head.

The Guillotine and Nitro Stinger combo is dead on with the GT 3555 (355 grains) combo up to 13 yards--they both hit the 'same' point on the target--after 13 yards the trajectory curves downwards--and hits - 1.5" below the center at 20 yards.
This test was done with Champion Scorpion ETS, 27.5" DL and 57 # DW.
Our season opens in two days, Monday April 26th--I was out scouting my spot yesterday and I am keeping my fingers crossed--the signs were 'very encouraging' !!
I'll see what 'I" can do with the Guillotine, oh did I mention that I also have two 3555 GT 27.5" armed with 100 gr Nap Spitfire (in my quiver) just in case the Guillotine misses the mark and there's chance for a second shot.
