Sun glare from CJ bubble level

I was shooting early this morning and the sun was right in my face, nothing new. When I shoot in the morning I always have to deal with the sun. But, today it was shining right on my bubble level on my CJ Pro. This is a new sight and one of the first times I shot it on a bright morning. I couldn't even see my pins the glare was so bright. I had to cover it up with a piece of tape. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to remove the level?

I use the red sight levels because of the glare off the yellow ones. There is a huge difference. You should be able to remove your level without too much trouble. Some are pressed in and others are glued in.If it is glued, you may be able to get the glue hot and that should let the level come out.You just have to be carefull with the heat.

Can you install a sunshield?

Personally, I would hate to see the level removed as I believe it is needed in many cases to make consistant and accurate shots especially on uneven terrain or 'less than perfect' situations. If you cannot find a red-level then may I suggest throwing some car polish or something on top of it. Apply it but don't wipe it off. The film left should get rid of the glare and yet you should still be able to use the bubble. Only problem is that if it does get wiped off then you are going to have an even more reflective surface...;)

I took it off last night. I'm heading out to shoot right now. I'll keep my eye open for a red one. Where would I buy one? Thanks for the help.

Sorry took so long.

I got a bullseye scope and it was an option with it.You may be able to get one from them or some other scope manufactuers out there.
