Whats the best site for around $50?

I am looking into getting a new site for my bow but I dont want to go all out. The one on my bow now is a no name brand and I want to replace it. I would like to stay around $50. Last night I almost bought the PSE f-18. What do you guys think I should buy? I shoot a compound bow 64lbs with a release and a peep site.

My brother in law is shooting the F-22 and has no complaints at all. You might check around on Ebay. You could pick up a Trophy Ridge matrix for about 50 bucks. However if you have a real PROshop in you area that is willing to help you get started ( if you are new to archery) i would gladly spend my money there. They should install it and help you get it going in the right direction

I've been shooting Impact Archery's Solo design. It's $50-$60 most places. Impact makes some very bright, nicely designed sights for a reasonable price.

I like the looks of the new PSE sights. All metal construction...graduated adjustment bars, etc... They have the staggered pins though IIRC so they are not as failsafe, IMO, as the single plane-zero pin gap setups but I would still recommend them.

My vote goes for the Copper John 3 pin Deadnuts hunter. $50 in my neck of the woods.

I would go with what Frank said, the Copper John DeadNuts Hunter is hard to beat!

The Impact Archery sights are very nice! They are probablly the brightest sites that I have ever seen, almost too bright! :D

Cobra has a few nice models also!

The things that I look for are.... construction, adjustability, and brightness of pins. I prefer a all metal construction. This is much nicer IMO, because you can't strip the screw out when adjusting everything. Also, I look for a single plane, zero pin gap style sight! I have messed around with the staggered pin sights and they can be a pain in the butt! Also, I look for a sight that has alot of adjustment and that can be fine tuned for the best accuracy! Pin brightness is another thing to look at. It isn't nessacary, but a nice bright pin is very nice for shooting in low light conditions!

Can you quickly explain staggered vs. straight line? I assume that you are refering to the slots the pins fit into and a stagged system has a couple of different slots. Thus the pins or offset of staggered. Is this correct?

Staggered pins are in different slots at various distances from your eyes. They are usually stacked behind one another thus giving you the illusion that the pins are right next to each other (when shooting) but in reality the pins are right behind or in front of each other. When your sight pins are lined up slightly to the left or right of your line of sight then the pins do not appear to be in the same line vertically but rather "staggered". One pin looks further in or out than the others. Several sights over the last 5 or 6 years have used multiple slots, angled pins or curved pin designs to get all of the pin heads into the same plane. This eliminates the "staggered pin" visual illusion.

PAbow
Is this staggered system bad? If Im looking at new sites should I show preference to the straight line ones?
thanks

Another vote for the Copper John Dead Nuts sight. It is built very solid and Copper John has great customer service.
