Question for Nubbb

Hi Nubbb, I've enjoyed reading your posts on
red dot scopes and have a couple questions.
Is there a big difference between the Leupold
and the Tasco scope you recommended and also
is the scopemate 2 the best mount for these
scopes. One last thing if you have the scope sighted for 30 yards how do you adjust for a
20 or 40 yard shot? I'm thinking its done using the mount so is the scopemate 2 adjustable? Thanks!

RE: Question for Nubbb

You can find the Leupold easily in Cabelas, but you might consider the Tasco first as it is about half the price and works quite well. Try Natchez shooters supply as a source for the scope. Of the available non-custom mounts, I would take the Scopemate2, it range adjustable and very well made. Not as easy to find, but way superior to the HHA IMO.

If you can't find one e-mail me, my local dealer can special order one for you. Only downside on special orders is no return, but it's a great mount. You'll like it very well I am sure though. The Scopemate 2 adjusts easily for yardage, but more often than not I leave mine set at 30 yards. Anything fro 0 to 35 yards will be within 4 inches higher to 4 inches lower than the point of aim with my setup. Makes it easy as pie. Do do have other marks and hold over spots, but unless you are out west, I doubt the would come into play. You will love the red dot setup. Have fun.

RE: Question for Nubbb

Thanks Nubbb, I went to the Tasco website and was checking out the PDP3. What do you think of the Tasco BKRD series of red dots? There are 4 variations of scopes. Is it worth adding an ounce or two of weight to get a larger objective lens diameter. Like the PDP3 you recommended has a length of 5" and weight of 5.5 oz. and a 25mm obj.lens diameter compared that with the BKRD42 with a length of 3.75" a weight of 6.7 oz. and a obj. lens diameter of 42mm, both are by Tasco which would be better for a bow given these stats?

Hunker skip the 42MM, don't neet it and it may interfere with your riser.

30MM to 35MM are my favorites for full scope red dots.
