How many f.p.s. are lost with the wisker bisket?

Alright guys I am not bashing the Wisket Bisket. I just want to know how many f.p.s. on average I am loosing with my wisker bisket? What rest will optimize my f.p.s.? I really do like my w.b. I am just wondering what I would gain if I swithched rests?

On the bow I shot last year I used a WB for hunting. Through my chronograph I lost 3 fps compaired to a prong style rest. I no longer have the bow or the WB to test the WB against a drop away though.

I personally don't shoot the whisker biscuit, but of the guys I know that do, the average loss is around 5-8 fps.

If you like the hunting features of the biscuit but want to maximize fps, try-

1- Making sure you have the correctly sized biscuit for your arrow.

2- Trim the backside of the biscuit.

3- Use less helical/offset vanes/feathers.

4- Buy an '04 replacement biscuit, the one with brown/black biscuits.

Many have reported being able to eliminate almost all fps loss and still retain the desireable qualities of the biscuit. No reason you can't too.

I would say it depends weather you are useing vanes or feathers , but with either one its not very much , about half the diferance of getting rid of a peep site setup with a rubber band attached .

Non-new bisquit trimmed on back side= 2-3 fps straight fletched vanes, 5 fps helical vanes. I can only imagine offset vanes would be somewhere in the middle.

Using the 2004 B2 biscuit, in aluminum size, with GT5575's, I lost 1 fps. That's with 4" offset vanes.
There's no need to trim the 04 models with the brown bristles.

Thaks for some quick answers. Here is my bow setup:
Darton Typhoon.
29.5" draw.
70-pounds.
Easton Axis 340 arrows 26.5" @ 9.5gpi. 4" vanes with 0-offset.
Ultra Limb Savers.
Peep with rubber tube.
String leaches.
String loop, without a brass nock on the string.

What can I do to maximize my f.p.s. and still have a quiet bow to shoot? This is a hunting bow. If I am only loosing 3 to 5 f.p.s second with the W.B. I will keep it? I feel the W.B. could offer a slight advantge in some hunting situations that would out weigh the 3 to 5 f.p.s. lost.

Ditch the peep and rubber tube and pick up 8-15 fps quick and easy. Slap a No-peep on and you're good to go.

I suspect with straight fletch, if you're biscuit is properly sized and broken in, you are losing minimal fps. You may wish to consider fletching with the new NAP spin vanes if you have any broadhead flight/control issues.

I think that considering your choice and configuration of fletch and with the new whisker biscuit design you should loose less than 5 fps...probably closer to 2-3 fps. If that is acceptable to you then I say go with it. I cannot imagine that you would lose more with your current setup.
