OK first of all..what kind of bow? An out of synch two cam wil often give a nock high tear you cannot get rid of.

If it's a Cam and a half (I see the reflex symbol in your sig), you can get that reaction too if the harnesses stretch. Make sure both cables are bottoming at the exact same time.

Second, the 6500s from CI are definitely stiffer than a 2114 or 2213. I don't remember exact spines but I believe they are in the .380-390 deflection range vs. the .460 deflection or thereabouts of your alums. You should try a weaker carbon arrow shaft or add some point weight (or you could raise your draw weight) and see what happens.

Loosening spring tension may also help. In general you only want enough tension to ensure that the prongs come back up all the way by themselves and can still hold your arrow up appropriately at full draw.

If your 2114s paper and group fine, then I'm not sure I'd mess wit hthe 2213s Arrow weights end up being within a few grains (due to differences in component weight) and the thicker walls of the 2114's will help with durability.

Not having a perfect tear through paper isnt the end of the world.
I shoot with a slight nock high tear as well.

I shoot gold tip xt 7595's at 28 inches.

I get great accuracy with them as well. I am currently shooting at 65 pounds. Shoot them and see how they fly, if they group then stick with them if you don't want to spend the money for a lower spined carbon.

Im not gonna shoot my 2114's cuz I only have three of them. And I wouldnt be upset if it was a little nock high but its ripping like 2 1/2 inch hole.

JeefB- I am shooting a Reflex Excursion cam & 1/2. The bow it totaly in sync.

If a prong style rest, try turning both prongs up a bit, holding the arrow higher on the rest......just thinking outloud......or would that have the opposite effect??

If it is ripping a 2 1/2 inch tear something major is wrong. What is the tiller like? If that looks good i must agree that it is prob. timing

Sounds like a posable spine problem , or could be many things 2114 = .500 spine . 2213=.457 both way under spined for your setup

It really sounds like contact .I know you have checked but just for your own sanity,try shooting a bare shaft.If it doesn't tear, then you will KNOW FOR SURE.



Next thing might be that the arrow is too stiff.

It sounds to me like your overspined! When your arrows too stiff it pushes down on the launcher arms at release then kicks back up causing high tears.

Why hasn't Arthur jumped all over this one?:D Your aluminums are shooting great? I know what I'd do.;)

Then again if your grouping just fine and dandy , back up to 10 yds and see if you get a bullet hole. If you are , throw the damn paper in the trash and shoot away!

If aint broke don't fix it. But if you're set on switching to carbons you definitely need a weaker shaft.
