I too would say go for the FX. I have had a Feather Max, very similar, for years and it is still a great bow. I would also shoot the other lines your dealer carries. Parker has been making great strides of late. At least shoot them and see if one just feels better. Try not to think of the brand of bow in your hand, but feel how the bow fits you.

Can either be bought from the dealer ?

From shooting both.......I'd have to lean toward the SQ2 ! It is shorter ata but has an inch higher brace height ! It also is designed more like the newer long riser short limb configeration and has dampiners........needless to say......it has less handshock and is quieter than an FX ! It also has a smoother draw cycle and has a little more mass weight ......which makes it steadier IMO !

Anyway shoot both.....their both nice bows IMO ! I just prefer the SQ2 a little more !

Len and Jeff bring up good points , I allso would go for the FX . After all the years I've been shooting , if given the choice between those two models I would still pick the FX .

Thanks for all the information fellas, I preciate it. In a few days when I have time, I'm going to try them both. FWIW, The bowdealer (owner-operator) has been reccomending the Parker Hunter-Mag package deal. It's 37" ATA and a pretty nice bow. I must say that I am guilty of Mathews Lust ;) Heya Nub, I live in the town of Rome, about 15 minutes South of Wis Rapids.

If you decide on the FX I have 3 FX that I have left over from my archery shop that is out of business. The bows are brand new and never been shot. They will be covered under the lifetime warranty because you will be the original owner. I am only asking 350 for the bows. I am sure shipping from Louisiana wouldnt be more than $20 so I can save you some money if you decide on the FX. If interested email me at [email protected].

If your draw is 28" or less I would go with the FX with the minimax. That cam has a very smooth draw and the smaller idler and cam make it nearly as compact as the SQ2. Also that cam gives some real good performance at the shorter draw lengths. The minimax will lower the peak draw about 5lbs though. The other thing is that the FX is just a real forgiving bow which for someone starting out is a big factor. I think that the SQ2 is really a specialty bow for an experienced archer who hunts the thick stuff out of a tree stand and needs the maximum manueverability for steep angled shots. Probably one of the better bows for that specific application. One final thought, in terms of resale the SQ2 wins hands down.
