RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
I have a splitfire 1 w/angled grip.
I wish there were more options for bow manufacturers offering this feature. I feel it is by far one of the best features avail. When you are out hunting in cold weather and have bulky clothes on the angle actually makes your are have more clearance than a typical straight grip. plus it seems to be more accurate. acts like a "High" grip. who makes the splitfire 36? |
RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
Bearmaster, Golden eagle makes the 36 also. it took the place of the
splitfire 1, so i here. question, what's the braceheight, and bow weight of the splitfire 1? can you still buy them? ![]() |
RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
i think you mean splitfire 32?

RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
Bogobble, the splitfire 1 has a brace height of 6 3/4" and weighs 3.8 pounds. You can still buy it.

RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
ok thanks ky_bowhunter! the 36 has an 8" braceheight, and that's what
I like about it, just nopt sure about the price difference! ![]() |
RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
The Martin MV2 does not have an angled grip like the Golden Eagle bows. It has an oddle angled high wrist style grip (which IMO is a far better option than the GE/MCPherson/Pearson design).

SPLITFIRE 1 SPECS. ------------------- Limbs: Split or Solid Brace height: 7" Mass weight: 3 lb. 8 oz. Axle to Axle: 37" Let off: 75% (65% avail.) IBO speed: W/ "E" kit 314 fps. w/o 300 fps. Weight avail. 45-60 lbs. 55-70 lbs. 65-80 lbs. I have the Splitfire 1 w/solid limbs, W/"E"kit, 55-70 lbs. and I love the grip! At the time I bought it I tried Mathews, PSE, Reflex, and a few others and the Splitfire was the fastest, quietest, and smoothest of the bows I tried without giving in on and of those traits. Plus it fit like a glove. I have gotten crap from many other archers for the choice I made but I skip past ads in magazines. I just use what works best in my hands. Try one out. you'll like it. Although you will not be able to get a new model (they nolonger produce 'em) and the "E" kit was dropped when they went to the PWC. which was no comparison.(they went backwards when Jennings and Bear joined them) Edited by - bearmaster on 01/07/2002 23:58:39 |
RE: anybody shot the golden splitfire 36, or the
thanks bearmaster! I'll probly end up gettin the splitfire 1 or the 36.
I really like the feel of the angled grip bows! one more question. about the grip. how wide is the grip, I don't really like anything much over 1 inch. thanks ![]() |
