Cable question
This may be a dumb question, but it has me thinking. On a Solo cam bow, should the cable overlap the string, or vice versa? I was looking at my bow tonight, and it seems that the cable and string are really tight, but looks as though if they were switched, cable in front of string, it would be better.
Does this make a difference? Or is it ok? Any insight would be appreciated. |
RE: Cable question
I'm no expert but do you mean they are rubbing? They should not be touching each other.

RE: Cable question
muzzy, yes it does make one difference! If your main string and buss cable are crossed to where they are really leaning hard against each other, they will prematurely wear out. I don`t think you will notice any performance increase, but I am not sure, as I always set my bows up so they are not touching, or just barely touching. If need be, I would get a cable slide that is staggered, to further prevent friction.

RE: Cable question
Thanks for the quick posts guys. I have a staggered cable slide but when I put my new strings and cables on, I put the string overtop of the cable.
Basically, what you guys are saying is that it wont hurt a thing and actually be better to switch it and have the cable on top of the string for clearence? |
RE: Cable question
Thats the way mine is.

RE: Cable question
That is correct.

RE: Cable question
