How is this set up for a new hunter?
I've hunted for over 16 years now and have decided this year to start bow hunting. I have researched all types of products for the last few months and have waited to make a wise decision for a setup. This is the setup I'm leaning towards: a Mathews Q2 bow with a Muzzy Zero Effect rest, and a Bushnell Holosight.

Welcome to the forum HH. I am familiar with the first two items but not the third. Looks "so far so good" for my tastes. :)

I use the Q2 and MZE and work well for me, don't know anything about the site.

I would go with a regular pin sight instead of an electronic sight. Pins aren't fancy, but they don't have batteries to go dead either. Plus they will leave money in your pocket for other stuff you'll find useful... like a dozen arrows, broadheads, quiver, bow case, release, stabilizer, treestand... Probably a couple other little tidbits here and there.

I tried a holo sight by eotech. It is very hard to hold them still enough to get a good sight picture, needless to say I didn't like it I went with pins works very well.

Sounds like an excelent set up for starters. I have to agree with everyone else though about the sight. I would go with a standard pin sight. The battery operated sights arent what they are cracked up to be. Besides, then you can spend that extra money for other goodies for it.
