Another vote for Prostring
I just finished tuning my Mathews LX after switching to a string from Prostring Archery. Shel had a new string to me, custom made, in less than a week. The cost was also less than 48.00 including shipping. I have about 200 shots on it so far and have had zero problems. I think I gained some speed and I swear the bow is quieter when I shot it in the garage. I also have had no problems with the serving working in the roller gaurd. If you're in the market for a new string, check them out. They make a great product and you'll have money left over for some new stuff.

RE: Another vote for Prostring
What material was used for your new string? Did you replace the cable
as well? I have a friend that bought a new string and cable from them and is very satisfied with both. |
RE: Another vote for Prostring
Ditto on the questions above and do you have a website address?

RE: Another vote for Prostring
Also curious as to what material is used. Past history shows me usually, with a pre-stretched string, you get more noise. Are the prostrings pre-stetched? I think I remember seeing somewhere that they do offer a pre-stretched version called the Dakota string, but not sure.

RE: Another vote for Prostring
Some of you asked what material my string is. I chose BCY 8125 because I mostly hunt and do not shoot an extraordinary number of arrows a year. So far it has been a good choice and the price was right. If anyone wants more information e-mail Shel at prostring.com.
By the way, thanks to those of you who have responded to my questions over the past few seasons. As a new bowhunter, your information was very valuable. This last tuning job after the new string, etc. was shorten thanks to the expertise and info on this site. |
