Who uses blazer vanes?
I was at the shop the other day and the owner kept telling me to try the blazer vanes. Who has used these and are they as good as he makes them out to be? I am skeptical of them, they are so small. They are .55 inches high by 2 inches long. I just can't see them having that great of a stabilization to them.
How much do they weigh each? |
RE: Who uses blazer vanes?
Iam experimenting with them as of right now.
So far, excellent results! They stabilize my slick tricks great. They weigh 5 grains a piece. |
RE: Who uses blazer vanes?
I have done my experiments with them. They did fine with small diameter fixed blade broadheads below 100 grains. My arrows started going squirrely with 100 grainers and things went downhill from there.
I had to try a Magnus II at 155 grains, just for grins. It shoots fine on an identical arrow with 5" feather fletch. It dang near hit the target sideways with the Blazers. This was shooting fingers though, at around 240 fps. They might give somewhat better results for a release shooter at faster speed, but still... I would not use a big honkin' unvented fixed blade head with them.[:-] |
