sims cable slide
 

I have a justice and Im wandering if I could put a sims cable slide on it with out damaging it or effecting its shootability. Picked it up at wally world for two bucks, thats why I have
it.

I put one on my Liberty. So far, so good. It does hold the cables a little closer to the rod than the stock slide for better fletching clearance. Can't beat that price, that's for sure! As far as damaging the bow, I can't imagine it would, but would like to hear it from someone else who knows more about it than I do. Bowtechshooter, MattPA, you out there?

I was having a little fletching contact issue on my Liberty with the stock slide so I swapped the Sims slide off of another bow. It does pull the cables over out of the way, but I think it may be a little too far as pointed out by JeffB and others. With the Sims slide, the cable seemed to almost be coming off of the side of the idler wheel. I'm no expert, but even I could tell that didn't look too good.

Jeff sent me a Hicks slide to try. It pulls the cables over further than the stock slide but not quite as far as the Sims. And the cable exiting the idler looks more like I would expect it to. It's pulled the cables over enough to get all the clearence I need, even with a straight fletched 4" feather on a fat 2413 shaft. You can pick up a Hicks slide at LancasterArchery.com for around $6.

Jeepnut, which hicks model do you have?
They have a white= 3-d
black= hunter
purplish= target

I had a sims, but also had some conact issues with it. I went with a Timberline (the one on the right) and it took care of the problem.

Haven't heard any of these comments before. The slide won't effect anything as far as performance or reliability. We have had no warranty issues or events so far and this is the third year the product has been to market with 100 of thousands sold. We have encountered the cables pulling close to the rod however, with the larger diameters on the cables and string. Our slide is made from 100% pure teflon with no additives and no added plastics.
