Notice some talk about reserving the ends of strings and cables. Now I can do a centerserving cause its there, already stretched tight across the bow. But how would a man reserve the ends? I know you have to take the string/cable off but how/what would you use to stretch the string tight enough to reserve the ends?
Like to have a pic or sight I could look at or something. I know I aint gonna put out the money for a factory string jig just to do end servings..

For simple, no cost, use a 2 x 4 with a nail at each end of the string. Worked for me for years.

No IMN, the 2x4 doesn't work that way anymore. There is a lot more to serving the ends. You have to use the right serving, and it has to be tight, and I mean tight. The string has to be stretched taut also. It wouldn't hurt to get some products from BCY or Brownell for serving applications. The major problem with serving today is the separation you get where the cable rolls over the cam lube, and eliminating the slippage of the center serving.

BG... I guess I'll have to throw my 2 x 4 away and buy an expensive jig ;). I've been making strings for years and I'll put my against anyone's. Never had a problem with serving separation.

Thanks for shareing black frog , looks like a good simple system . How many pounds of presure do you apply ?
