Arrow Spine Question

I'm getting ready to order a dozen of the Easton Axis arrows and I'm having a little trouble deciding between the 400's and the 340's. According to the arrow chart for my bow weight and arrow length I should shoot 400's. I am considering increasing my bow weight a few pounds which would put me with the 340's. My question is, if I get the 340's and don't increase my bow weight, what happens? Will the fact that these are a little stiffer make a big difference?

I've learned to make it a point to order the stiffer spine any time I'm within a few pounds of being out of the lower spine range. It's always better to be slightly overspined than underspined.

I agree with Arthur. I also think its a big mistake to raise poundage in order to shoot an arrow!

By the way, my dealer will have a new 1/2 dozen of Axis arrows ready to go for me next week. I chose the 340's also.

RE: Arrow Spine Question

Thanks for the info. That makes me feel better about ordering the 340's. I wouldn't be moving up in weight just to shoot that arrow. I am shooting at 65 lbs now and I don't see 70 lbs being a problem if I need/want to move up. I changed to a heavier broadhead, and with the 340 being a little heavier than what I have been shooting, I am going to have to shoot with those to see how much drop I get with the heavier setup. I shoot with only one pin but I don't see me getting/taking a shot at a deer at over 25 yards anyway so maybe it won't matter. Thanks again.
