Which Bowtech for target/3D
Which Bowtech would you get for target/3D. I love my Liberty and am planning to sell my 03 Scepter III to buy a Bowtech target bow. I like the feel of the Pro 40 F-cam but would like more speed for 3D. Which, out of the Pro 40's, BK, and Pat Dually, would probably be the best for someone with 27"/60lb specs??

RE: Which Bowtech for target/3D
With out a dout the pro 40 Wheely. I shot 27"/62 lbs with the 65% letoff mods. It shoots a 301 grain arrow 276 fps BUT it is dead accurate. I shot the Alabama shoot this past weekend in the MBR class and shot a 416 w/ 23 - 11's. I kinda had douts about speed myself but not now. a slow 11 is better than a fast 8. Junkie

Well if it was me choosing, I'd go with the Patriot Dually. I have one on it's way but it's not the 3D model it's my hunting bow in a 28" 60# model .
Good luck on choosing nubo |
RE: Which Bowtech for target/3D
I'm with bowjunkie on this one. I shot the Pro40 at my shop a little and it would make a heck of a target/3D rig. The bow is long in ATA and very stable. It actually looks like its about 45" long when you see it on the rack. Thats because of that big ol ugly Bowtech riser.;)

RE: Which Bowtech for target/3D
The Freedom cam makes shooting 30 targets at almost any draw weight relatively easy. :) However, you stated that you wanted more speed. The next step up in smoothness would be the Pro 40 Wheely. Pretty impressive numbers for a "wheeled" bow. I am currently using the Liberty as my 3D bow with no complaints. However, considering the draw length and draw weight you are planning on shooting I would probably go with either the Pro 40 wheely or the Pro 40 DC.

I think the Extreme won the MN State 3-D last year;)

RE: Which Bowtech for target/3D
The extreme is the fastest bow I shot. If it would have had a better brace height I might have been ordered instead of the outback.

RE: Which Bowtech for target/3D
best for someone with 27"/60lb specs?? Then I would suggest the Black Knight yes it has a short brace height but with your draw lenght I dont think the brace will come into play as much as it would a 30 or 31" draw. The specs for my 04 BK2 are 60lb 28" draw 214gr arrow 312fps 375gr arrow 288fps and a 400gr arrow 280 fps. All I have on the string is the BT hush kit and a string loop. The speed you will get will differ from mine depending on what else you have on the string. In my testing so far the BK is deadly accurate in my hands and IMHO a very sweet forgiving bow that is extremely fast;) |

RE: Which Bowtech for target/3D
Ausie, how much vibration/recoil does your BK have? I like the specs of this bow and have shot bows around 6" BH before, but I'm looking for a vibration free bow, which is why I'm selling my Scepter and getting another Bowtech.
