MaxCam 3 VS HP Cam (Outback)
I have a Mathews Legacy (MaxCam 3), at full draw this bow wants to GO! I mean there is very little valley with this cam, no creep is allowed. Which I believe, makes for a smooth rollover = a very smooth shot.
For all you guys out there that have been able to shoot the new Mathews HP cam (either the LX or the Outback @ 80%) does the HP cam have alittle more of a valley? I believe it would at the 80% setting. I know that I need to shoot one myself to finally see, just haven't been able to get to a local dealer to try. Thanks for any insight, Jason |

The LX has a little better valley.....the Outback does not ! But both pick up weight over a more even range and have a much better backwall than the SL3 !

With a little tinkering I got a better valley with my Outback. Added just a little more draw length to do it tho. Just put a smaller bumper on the draw stop screw.

without any type of adj the cam on the outback has a real narrow valley

I have had 3 Mathews bows with the max cam on them. I now own
a Ovation with the hp cam and like it much better. The draw is smooth with a good valley and a solid back wall. Though it is not as fast as my Ultra 2 was it is much more forgiving and more pleasant to shoot. |
