Hoyt Problems!

I just installed a new string on my 02 Magnatec and before I put it in my portable press I backed out the bolts a couple turns. Well to that on this bow you first have to loosen the weight locking screws so I did that. Then I put the string on, took it out of the press, tighten the bolts back up and went to put in the locking screws and the limb pocket wasn't lined up correctly. Its hard to explain so I will attach a link to some pictures I took. They are in the Bow pics folder. Thanks for the help!

Did you have to take the locking screws totally out? On my Ultratec and Razortec, you just loosen the bolts, and then tighten them back up. Anyway, I would try to press the bow again to get them lined back up. If that does not work you may have to take the strings and cables off the bow and totally let the limbs out to get everything lined up again.

So it wont hurt the bow to take the string off then take it out of the press and undo the limb bolts?

It looks to me like you might have removed the limb pivot screw, do you have a better picture of the whole limb pocket? The locking screw is located between the limb pivot and the draw weight adjusting bolt.

Yep, WWAG hit the right note. That is the pivot screw, not a limb locking bolt. I never took one of those off without having the bow completely broken down. I am guessing you will need to unstring it, and then unpress the bow to get it aligned again.

As someone else already mentioned, you may be bettr off going to a good proshop, or somebody that is knowledgable on this and let them give you some pointers.

Keep us updated..

I took the strings off and completely let the bow down. It only took one turn of the limb bolts to get the pivot holes to line up again. Then put it all back together and it's good to go! I have a Bowmaster portable press that I was using. The king you have to turn a jackscrew. After all of this I think my forearms are a couple inches bigger. All I need now is a string loop and a no-peep and I'll be getting ready for deer season! Only 7 more months!!!
