2315 or somthing else

My question is about what shaft diameter/weight i can use to optimize speed and penetration. I am currently shooting easton 2315s. This is my setup: Mathews sq2
70lb draw wt
30 in length
cobra release
ultra knock 2
no overdraw
100 gr broadheads/feild points.
I used the arrow chart to get this arrow, but the shop tech told me i could get away with lighter larger diameter shaft. \
My question is what are some of you with the same setup shooting? and/or what other arrows would give me alittle better performance.
Just a note accuracy is fine but id like to improve my trajectory and speed a bit. thanks for the help

wvdeerhunter22:

On 3 compound bows, all three dialed in at 65-67lbs, pulling 31.5 shafts with 125 grn heads; I shot 2413's, 2314's, and 2315. The 2315 won out for all three bows.

Accuracy is foremost. Your bow, as are mine, should be fast and flat (no such thing as "flat") enough. With your bow sighted in at 25 yards on a single pin, shots out to 30 yards with a minimum Kentucky adjust on the pin should do the job.

If it ain't broke..............!

I was kind of in the same boat, tried 2413 and 2315, the 2315 shot noticably quieter out of my bow.

2315 pretty much fills a void that no other aluminum arrow size can fill. Good blend of accuracy, trajectory and durability. The larger diameter, thinner walled and lighter arrows might flatten your trajectory a tiny bit, but they don't have anywhere near the durability the 2315 gives. It's one of my favorite arrow sizes.

To get a light enough arrow to noticeably flatten your trajectory, you'll have to go carbon.

I'll vote also to stay with the 2315's for hunting with your setup. I hunt with these also and my bows are very quiet and super accurate. I shot a doe last season with a perfect pass through into about 8 inches of snow and had a perfect "bullet hole" in the snow bank;) I believe for 65 to 70 pound bows that the 2315 is the .300 Mag of archery bullets:D

Stay with the 2315 I went to carbons for 2 seasons now back to alumium.I don`t think you can beat a 2315 with your setup
