Bowtech Patriot VFT Dually 2003 question
 

Do any of you shoot this bow and are there any set up tips I should be aware of when putting a troghy taker rest on it?? Also have you found the need for a stabalizer for added weight??? Any info on this bow would be great.

I have one of these bows. I like lifting the TT rests with the cable slide. I set them angled down slightly so the launcher contacts the shelf. Pad the shelf with mole skin to quiet it. Set the rest to come fully up right at full draw. Too soon, and the cables bind. I pull the bow back and have someone mark the cable rod at the rear of the slide. Now all I need to do is pull the slide back to set cord length. No pulling and letting down (no sore shoulders or dry fires). Set center shot at 3/4", and up even with the rest mounting holes. Nock point I start at 1/8" high. Tune from there. In the pic you'll see I run the cord through from the front side of the rest. It won't work right the other way around (as in the directions for using the down cable). I have a Vibracheck Isolator on mine, more for vibration than weight. I don't like adding weight where I don't have to. Good luck and you'll find your Patriot to be very accurate and sweet shooting.

Great bow that is very fast. You won't go wrong with a Trophy Taker either! I like the fall away string connected to the buss cable in the more tradtional style but the cable slide is a great hook up as well.

Got a 2004, but I think I can relate to your stabilizer question. I shot noticably better with a few Sims modular stabilizers attached. I say I can relate because the 03 Patriot has a thicker, more top heavy riser than the 04. It's my impression then that you would do better with some extra weight below the rest as well.

How many modules did you have to use? I am seriously contemplating a Patriot SC for my next bow, and was curios about which stabilizer to use. I don't want to have to weigh the bow down a lot with a stabilizer to get it to shoot good. If that's the case, my mind will be made up to go with the Hoyt.

Start in the front from bow outward:
Sims Enhancer 2000 given to me by PABowhntr
2 small modules
capped off with a stabilizer enhancer

Back:
1 small module capped off with a stabilizer enhancer

[:o][:o][:o] If my calculations are correct, that's about 12.5 ounces of added weight to the bow. Does it take that much to dampen the recoil?!?!?! I don't want to have to add another 3/4 of a pound to my bow to make it not vibrate.

For the Pat SC a 6" Sorbotek should be about all you will need.
