Opinions wanted on Darton

I am considering switching from a Mathews Q2 to a Darton Magnum Extreme for hunting purposes only. (So save the 3-D opinions for later.)

My current rig is listed in my signature.
I currently shoot off the serving an am thinking about a string loop as well.
I have a multitude of reasons for the current rig and for the proposed change but want to hear what the "wisedom" of the group has to say on this matter before I go any further.
And just so you know, Les in MD and Norm Lewis are not twisting my arm on this decision.:D ( Hi guys)

Well I don't know who is going to respond and who isn't so I will say that eventhough I have not shot the Dartons that I could recommend them based on some of the other more respected members of this boards recommendations. I know they are making quality equipment or some of the guys that are shooting them, wouldn't be;)

I have shoot a Darton for some time and now using a Q2.
So i did it the other way arround compared to your plans ;)

Darton makes very fine bows, no discussion there.
There is just one thing i would like to mention.
Sound.
I found my Q2 alot more quiet than the Darton - without any silencers.

Any sound can be taken with proper equip, but i would like to ask you to pay attention to this when you go try the bow.

Have fun!

Thanks guys, but what about all this level nock travel and such?

I just have to believe there is life outside of this Mathew's, Bowtech, Hoyt "Bermuda Triangle"[:@]

I will have to let len touch on the level nock travel. There is definetly life outside of the Bermuda Triangle. Just shoot what ever floats your boat. One of the members of the triangle happen to make the bow that floats mine but that doesn't mean it's better or worse than anything else on the market, it just makes it the bow for me.

Thanks SA,
Yea, I'm just trying to float a boat of a different color and was wondering more about the boat before I bought it.
I read lots of info on the different "selling points" of many "boats" and am really trying to solicit some of the different opinions those folks have on their particular "boat".
I guess I am hoping that someone has a compelling enough argument that I will really switch boats in mid stream!

Ditto test shot a mathews and a darton and why would you switch?

That was true in 03 , but 04 darton has changed the rules with the new cam , check it out yourself . I got a mavrick extreme and it is much smoother and quieter than last years express model . The q2 is a good bow for sure , liked it alot better than their latest crop . Hybreds are the wave of the future, easyer to tune with broadheads IMHO

glad to hear that jimmy. i have heard that from others as well.

i have a mav extreme in the works right now.

i am going to deck it out in silencing equipment anyhow due to my short draw length.

if i can't be fast, gosh darn i will be QUIET!!!
