I heard all of the good reviews about the Whisker Biscuit on he message board and was excited to add it to my bow. I went to the local pro shop and the guy behind the counter started laughing at me. he said that the WB does not allow the arrow shaft to flex properly and that it will slow the speed of the arrow by 15fps or more. He said that it was very unpredictable and that he would use a fall away rest.

Is the WB a good rest!!!!

Brianb, I have no exp with the whisker biscut. But I do have a Trophy Taker(fallaway) and I think a good fallaway is worth looking at, they eliminate fletching clearance problems. I improved my best target score by 10pts, since I added the TT.

I have shot a whisper biscuit for a while and have had no problems with the rest, I had perfect arrow flight. The inly way it is going to reduce your arrow flight much is if you have very large vanes, I shot 2.5" and lost 2fps. but the accuracy was very goood,the rest was totally silent and the arrow never falls off the rest!
I thouroughly recomend them for hunting.

brianb, I am not taking anything away from the trophy taker. I am sure they are a fine rest. As far as the WB costing you 15fps, that is very possible, if you are shooting 2512`s through a carbon bisquit!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>Sounds to me like someone has a shelf full of trophy takers, and no WB`s. I tested a WB on one of my hunting rigs. I changed nothing but the rest. My sight marks stayed identical out to fifty yards. The chrono showed a whopping loss of 1 fps.

I have a WB, and while I have not realy shot it enough to make a complete judgment, I will say that the bow I have it on is shooting very well, but I have not realy tried to tune it yet. I did some trimming to allow easier pass through with my feathers, and cut a slot in the top to &quot;top load&quot; my arrows. I don't think you will loose anywhere near that much speed with a properly tuned setup. That said, I also belive that for the greatest possible accuracy a good drop away rest like the Muzzy ZE is the way to go. The WB has some very nice atvantages, but I can't realy give you a &quot;qualified&quot; opinion on it now, but I do think your &quot;proshop&quot; needs to be a little more flexable, and maybe try the product before bashing it.

I shoot the wb for league ,3d and hunting for a year now and have nothing but the best results , i actually picked up a few fps because i was able to cut down my arrows . and use 4 inch vains . make sure your arrows have clearence through the biscuit and you will be fine .

Big Country is right. I watched some tests the pro shop guy in my area did. He set up ONE bow (A Martin Cougar if I recall) with a TM hunter style rest and aluminum arrows. The bow was chrono'ed. Then a Whisker Biscuit rest was installed on the same bow then chrono'ed again. The speend difference was NEVER greater than around a 2 or 3 FPS loss. 15 fps loss is a total crock!

The WB is a good rest. I have one on my PSE Thunderbolt. Most people (myself included) recommend trimming the whiskers on the back side of the rest. Also, I cut slots for the vanes to pass through. I haven't had a bit of trouble with it.

I'm wondering, if the speed loss is so minimal with the biscuit, why do people trim the backside and cut slots for vanes? Why mess with the design?

Rangeball has a good point. Why do all of the trimming of the biscuit if the only difference is 1-5 fps?

If one should decide to trim the biscuit jst in case what are you considering the back side of the rest.....The side that faces the shooter?

After seeing the new redesigned WB for 2002 I just might look into picking one up.A sleek quality design with vertical and horital micro adjust.
