RE: BERRY STRINGS?

I don't use them (I make my own), but I've heard nothing but good about them. If a string is tied correctly, it won't creep, which from the comments I've heard, Berry Strings are tied correctly.

Ultracam is a string made with the highest percentage of vectran. Therefore, it stretches less then other materials and is less likely to move from excess heat. The downside is that it is more brittle, and is slightly heavier (for a given diameter) and therefore, a couple fps slower then an equal diameter of some other materials.

I like it and make all my strings from it, because I get greater consistancy by using the same string material with the least amount of stretch. Those who are trying to eek out every last fps, from their strings will usually choose something else.

RE: BERRY STRINGS?

I have been in touch with Wayne Newberry for the past week talking to him about a new string for my Mathews LX, the Ultracam is similar to BCY 8125, he uses usually 16 strands of Ultracam for the string, if you want BCY 452X then he uses 22! Ultracam is 57% Dyneema and 47% Vectran! And for the complete cable and string system, he is making it for $48.00 plus shipping! That is a whole lot cheaper than Winners Choice!

RE: BERRY STRINGS?

I shot a Berry String for the last 5000 shots on my bow. The peep never moved and the quality was excellent. If it wasn't for a slip with a razor blade trying to move my peep up I'd still be shooting it. The Ultra cam was really stable and didn't fuz up at all.

For my new string I went with a Wolfden String in TS1 since Wolfden is now the stock string maker for my Newberry bow. I'm very happy with this string also.

Navy,

Send me a message. I make strings right here in your neck of the woods ( I am in Chesapeake). I prefer Ultracam as well, but also will use 8125, D-75, D-75 thin, 450+, 452, etc. I used an Ultracam string on my Supernova for nearly 2 years and olny changed it because I switched the wheels to cams.

My Berry string is awesome! He is great to deal with also. My peep comes stright back and there has been zero change in several hundred shots (700-900).

Very satisfied I am....
