How important is it to have the right spined arrow
My set up is a MQ32 27 inch draw and 26 inch Carbon Express arrows w/MZE rest set at 63 lbs with 65% let off. According to Carbon Express's chart I am suppose to shoot a size 200 arrow. The 200's are thinner walled I know then the 300's. I was wondering if I could shoot the 300's with out any troubles. I want to do this to maybe have a tougher arrow I seem to break the 200"s awful fast. Thanks for the help!!!!!

RE: How important is it to have the right spined arrow
Over spining is always acceptable. Under spining can be hazardous to your health! I have recently been in exactly the same boat that you are in. I dropped my Ultra-Tec to 60 pounds and was using 300's. They flew just fine and grouped well. They had a horrendous paper tear, but grouped well.
My Program prefers the 200's as well. I have since switched to the new 250CXL. They seem pretty durable and fit nicely right in-between the 200-300's in spine. Whatever you decide, its ALWAYS o.k to shoot a heavier spine. Happy Shooting! >>>------Tony Virnoche------>>> >>>---The Archery Program--->>> |
