I thought the Outback shot better (with less recoil & vibration!), was faster, and quieter. |
RE: Mathews Outback
I brought my arrows that I shoot with my LX, which are Gold Tips XT's 55/75's with a 100gr field point and shot both bows one after another, the Mathews with that arrow, and field point was faster, than the Mighty Might, I had the shop owner set up his chrono, so I could see which one was faster, the Outback shot at 287fps, and the Mighty Might at 285fps! I shot a 29" arrow! You cannot tell by standing there, but 2fps difference does not make much of a difference, but there was a little gap! I don't know why, it shot faster, but it did!
Both bows were at 67#'s! The only difference, was, the Mighty Mite had a NAP Quicktune 3000, and the Outback has a MZE dropaway! |

RE: Mathews Outback
it seems to me that Mathews is going after Bowtech's new bows (trying to be better!) ! |
RE: Mathews Outback
There's a lot to Frank's point about the Mighty Mite VFT; I was thinking it looked more like the Liberty, but the specs may actually match up closer to the MM. What does the MM weigh, as far as comparisons go?
|
RE: Mathews Outback
mm vft mass weight 3lbs 8oz
ibo speed eating 314-322 fps |
RE: Mathews Outback
MQ1
The MMVFT weighs 3lbs 8 ozs |
RE: Mathews Outback
As far as speed goes........the Bowtech's advertised speed is without the hush kit ......correct ???
The BC speed is with the hush kit installed and is several fps less .........right ??? If you were to shoot an Outback with no string silencers and just relied on the string suppressors ......then the Outback would gain an advantage and put it close to/or above the same fps as a MM VFT(w/ hush kit) and faster than a Justice/Liberty(w/hush kit) ......while remaining quiet .....I think !! Where .....if you were to add additional string silencers to an Outback and take off the additional eliminator buttons on a Bowtech then the Bowtechs may jump ahead a few fps......I think !! I think I'm getting a headache now !! [8D]:D |
RE: Mathews Outback
ORIGINAL: CBM SC Where .....if you were to add additional string silencers to an Outback and take off the additional eliminator buttons on a Bowtech then the Bowtechs may jump ahead a few fps......I think !! I mean, we are talking about a completely insignificant difference in speed. This will mean nothing, at no time, anywhere!:D Specs are a nice thing to look at as a place to start, but when they're that close, you gotta go with something more sustantial then that, like the camo pattern or the look of their logo. You might even want to decide based on what feels best to you, knowing full well, that it's not going to feel best to everyone. ;):D Personally, I'd choose based on the higher brace height or the one with the best grip (in my opinion). I might even decide, with the criteria being straightest nock travel or lighest weight, but a couple fps in speed, wouldn't mean a thing. :):D |
