trophy taker v.s. zero effect

the bow i bought has a zero effect on it. my cousin who owns an archery course said he has seen people have trouble keeping them in tune. i was thinking about swapping it for a trophy taker shakey hunter. am i making a good choice

t-roy,

The MZE is a high quality rest that has gotten lots of praise. I have never heard people talk about problems with tuning.
The TT Shakey Hunter is a sweet drop away. I just got one put on my Liberty tonight and I got a few dozen arrows out of the bow. So far, I am very impressed with its performance, but, only time will tell! I will give updates on how it is performing as I get to shooting it a little more.

BM,
When you mounted your TT on your Liberty, did you attach it to the cable slide?
Thanks, Camo

Sorry, I now have read your post[:-][:-]

I have used both of those, for hunting I prefere the muzzey, mine have never come out of tune and I have drug it through some nasty stuff.
I didn't like the cord on the trophey taker, matter of fact it is off the bow, I traded it for a 3D rover. So trophey taker gone and still got the muzzey's.

I have never used the muzzy but I can say that the Trophy Taker work's flawlessly and I love it .Camo Hunter As for the TT yes you serve the string to the Down stroke cable above the rest so that when you are at full draw the string from the rest stop's parellell to the rest at full draw.
P.S. there is a post on setting up you TT a couple of pages back .

Yeah you defintiely want to get rid of the MZE.....in fact I'll give you $20 for it ;):D

Actually, I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything. It is a great rest, especially for a hunting setup.

I will have to agree with BUCKMAGNET. I have never heard of a tuning problem with the MZE once it has been set-up. It is a quality rest and works great!.

I also like the TT rest which I currently have set-up on my BT Liberty.

Trophy Taker is my choice. I see more and more pro archers using this rest for hunting. Very simple and very accurate and solid.

Hey Nubo, you were correct. I had the cord served below the rest. By serving
the string above the rest it functions fine now. Thanks for the tip! I am
happy shooter now. :D Thanks again.

I've just started fiddling with the Trophy Takers. I have a Shakey Hunter and the original. The Shakey is easily the better of the two for hunting, IMO. Both were easy to set up and work great.

Phil:

Thought I remember you using the NAP drop aways. How does the Trophy Taker compare, IYO?

I have had both the Trophy Taker and the MZE. Both are great rests, but I still have not seen enough evidence that drop away rests in general really provide better accuracy or forgiveness. The do give you total fletch clearance if you are set up right.

The MZE definitely has the arrow containment advantage over the TT for hunting. I did have the standard TT, not the Shaky though.
