RE: This is it!
Youw went to the shop, and didn't bring it home? [:o] You have alot more patience than I have :D
Good choice of accessories...Love the Cosmic myself..and the NAP 3000, and ST AXIS...I must say though that a PSE quiver on a BowTech bow is borderline blasphemy![>:] Give me 10 "Hail Kevin Strother"s and you will be saved :):D;) |
RE: This is it!
LOL at JeffB!!!!!!:D[8D] "you will be saved"!!!!!
|
RE: This is it!
Yeah........PSE quiver? [:'(] That bow is going to reject that quiver like a bad heart transplant.:D;)
I still don't know how you guys even shoot with bow mounted quivers? Mine came off in 1997 and hasn't been back since. Hate the stinkin unbalanced monsters. Catquiver my man, Catquiver! carries your neccesary gear , protects your arrows and you just strap it to, or hang it in your tree. A pack and quiver in one. The greates combo since peanut butter and jelly! Yeah and why didn't you bring that thing home? geez that would be like going to the pound and knowing that your new puppy was there and you just left him for a few more days looking all sad and cold.........and lonely.:( while you went shopping for a new leash and a water bowl. I guess I'm going to have to get some of those Axis arrows myself.....I'm about sick of hearing how good they are. |
RE: This is it!
Nubo, congrats on the new bow. I'm not sure I'd be able to sleep at night knowing that I have a brand new bow sitting at the shop waiting to come home.
I also shoot a Quictune 3000 & I was wondering if there would be any problems setting it up for the skinny axis arrows. It seems like you would have to move the prongs in pretty close & wouldn't be able to shoot much offset on your fletching without any contact. I've never had any experience with the skinnier carbons. If I'm not mistaken JeffB is currently shooting his axis arrows through a drop away. Just curious how they would work with my rest. Another vote for the Catquiver. I switched to one this year from a bow mounted quiver & absolutely love it. No more heavy bow walking to my stand. No more snow or mud filling up your nocks when you're crawling through the thick stuff. |
RE: This is it!
I have often thought of getting a Cat quiver but how would I put that and my Summit Viper on my back at the same time?

RE: This is it!
I'm with ya on the bow quiver[:-] I need to know exactly where that first or next arrow is at all times. I have a 4 arrow bow quiver on mine and it, with 4 carbon arrows only adds 9 1/2 ounces to the bow. My rig is deadly accurate out to 60 yards,,,, I only wish I was!!![:'(]

RE: This is it!
I have carried a hip quiver for the last 12 years and love the fact it's right at my side or hanging ready for the next shot.
|
RE: This is it!
Consider this......an Alpine Archery or Kwikee bow quiver that's removable so that when you're walking to stand with a backpack and treestand on your back you have easy access to your arrows. Once you're in the tree, hang a cheap screw on hook (or spend the extra dough and get a quiver mount for your treestand) so you can shoot quiver free.

RE: This is it!
I knew I was gonna catch hell for the quiver and for not bringing this bow home and yes it's hard knowing it's waiting for me . As for the quiver it matched the bow better than the other's ,I also need a new quiver for my other bow so I will be getting a Bow Tech quiver or maybe I'll try a Cat quiver later, but this quiver will not be permenant I'll put it on my other bow since the quiver on it has seen better day's .And for bringing it home I still haven't paid it off so this week I'll go finish paying for it and then I'll give it a good home.

RE: This is it!
Nubo--you're one happy camper. sometimes it boggles me to think I'm here almost in the heart of the city and still cannot get a hand on the new Bow Tech bows, Hoyt or Mertin---would you believe my wife gave me an 'open check' which says on the memo line 'new compound bow'---and to this day, 1/11/04, I am still unable to get a look at the new line of bows I'd mentioned above. The Champion Diablo was hanging around my buddy's shop--but that's about it. Not a bad bow, but Champion went right back with the teflon and plastic washers for the cam again this year. :( Do you know if your pro shop get their Bow Tech from North Star Silva here in Toronto--as he seems to be playing games with my buddy. I may not even be able to make it to the ATA show this year, which only makes matters 'worse'.

RE: This is it!
I'm not sure if that's who they deal with or not but I'm going to find out that might just explain why they don't have much along the line of Bow Tech.
Gary at the Wolf's Den between Barrie and Angus told me the reason was that hoyt was the big demand this season and that's why he wasn't carrying much BT's He would get them if you wanted. I guess if your selection is limited then your going to buy what hanging .Who want's to wait ,most can't but I want what I want and I'll wait for it if it comes down to it. nubo |
RE: This is it!
Just so you know fellas, the Canadian distributor (which is "Silva") Just received their 2004 BowTechs this past week (I know becuase I was checking on it for a customer). They should start flowing out to the pro-shops any day now.

RE: This is it!
Thanks Jeff--that's the Distributor for Bow Tech here in Ontario, North Star Silva, I'll work on that this week. Nubo, does Wolf's Den have the new Hoyt's in stock, I'm about an hour/fifteen away (South) and have no problems heading up there.
Thanks guys for the info. |
RE: This is it!
Oh Jeff--I forgot to mention, the last time we talked to 'Silva' he said his container was detained at the border with all the stuff inside--some mistake with the documents and what was inside the container--something along those lines.

RE: This is it!
Left your new bow at the shop!!![:o]
Your a stonger man than I . I would wake up in a cold sweat worrying that every Tom,D, and Harry were fondling my baby while I was away. I hope you enjoy your new rig! |
RE: This is it!
Ampahunter The Wolfs Den has a pretty good selection of Hoyt's if you send me your address I'll give you thier phone number so you can call before you go,just to make sure you don't drive up for nothing .I know Gary was telling me he wasn't keeping too many Bow Tech's in stock because the Hoyt's were selling fast.

RE: This is it!
Thanks for the offer Nubo--I've got Gary's number and will give them a call.
Last night I shot the new Champion Diablo again and the Champion Scorpian '04, for the first time. The Scorpian was indeed a pleasant surprise--for a low cost bow, I was impressed. I'm now leaning towards buying this bow and one other. |
RE: This is it!
Well if it saves you the trip then that's good for warranty item's.Tommorrow I will be bringing my new baby home ,this wait has been a long one.
