I sanded my carbon express arrows for the same reason. I used 600 or 800 grit sand paper either should work fine and now they are as smooth as a babys bottom.

Generally, no. I assume the noise you are referring to is when you draw them across your rest. Most carbon arrows are noisy. You can seal them with silicone spray, which helps somewhat. If you are using metal rest prongs, you can cover/replace the metal prongs with teflon to quiet them down. You can also place moleskin on the prongs. Another good trick is to coat your prongs with clear fingernail polish. This will have to be redone after several shots. You are not alone with this problem, but I wouldn't recommend you try sanding the arrows...

Get white fork tamers and you will never have noise problem again. The last long time mone 1000 shot plus and show very little wear.
