Please be more specific with the problem you are having. Sounds more like a problem with the release, not the loop.

What kind of release and how long is the loop?

RE: D-loop

If you are using one of the all metal D loops, your aluminum caliper release jaws might be hanging up on the square edges of the metal D loop. Seen it happen on someone else's bow set up. Go to a rope loop.

RE: D-loop

I'd bet that if you look at your release jaw you will see a little rough spot there where the metal D loop chewed into the jaw and created it's onw little "hook". Your release might chew up a rope loop now unless you smooth up the rough spot with some 600 grit wet or dry sand paper;) Let us know what you find, Russ.

Sounds to me that yu just solved your problem. Use a rope loop, those metal loops are junk IMHO. But, like WWAG said, make sure that there isn't a rough or sharp spot on your release.
