Feather shooters

What length feathers do most use for hunting arrows? I have some aluminums set up with 5", just wondering if 5" is necessary on Easton Evolution's (340) .I have some fletched with 4" vanes but want to try the feathers on the carbons, while I'm asking, where is the best place you've found to buy Tru Flite's the closest shop only does vanes.

Thanks

I use 4" for hunting and 3" for 3D.

Whoops..

I also use 4" on 6075 t hunters with a 125 muzzy head. But am going to experiment with 5" feathers as well.

I've used 3, 4 & 5" feathers, depending on the set-up. For Mechs the 3" ina helical work fine. For fixed blades 4 or 5" is the way to go.

BTW, good to see ya back Gromage..haven't seen a post of yours in a long time (or am I just oblivious?) :D

I currently use 4" parabolic 3 fletch on my carbon arrows but I have used 5" shield cut in the past. In fact I am thinking about switching back to shield cut maybe 4" this time. I really like the look shield cut gives my arrows.

Jeff knows too much about arrows :) , This year I switched from 4 inch feathers to 5 inch feathers and the diferance is amazing . With fixed blade broadheads such as 3 blade 100 grain muzzys my arrows fly much better . I put mine on with a 4 degree right offset .
