pro 40 wheelie
Does the new pro40 wheel bow for 2004 have the new redesigned riser? Why does it not come with the movable limb pockets? I am interested in buying a pro40 dually for 3d and a pro40 wheelie for indoor and want to know what the differences will be.

RE: pro 40 wheelie
The Pro40 wheelie is the exact same model as last year except for the new hush kit & new camo.
Why? I don’t have a definitive answer but my guesses would be 1) With the new redesigned riser/pockets the brace would be under 7” which would probably nix most sales for a “smooth wheel bow” (this would also bring max draw to around 28.5”) 2) Several of the new riser bows have new limb lengths and I know that the wheels did/do not work well/at all w/ certain limb lengths(I inquired into making a Patriot wheel bow) |
RE: pro 40 wheelie
Thanks Jeff the biggest drawback I have with my current Pro40 dually is the balence is very top heavy and I knew the new riser was supposed to take care of this problem. I will probably just get the new dually and see how it feels.

RE: pro 40 wheelie
WHAT!!! A top heavy Pro 40 Dually??? Mine isn't, surely you're kidding?????????

RE: pro 40 wheelie
I've got an 03 Pro40, and top-heavy is one thing it ain't.

RE: pro 40 wheelie
Hmmm I hope you guys are kidding because I use a 30" aep stabilizer with NO weights at all and still need morre weight in the back to make it balence. It is not unshootable by anymeans but definatly top heavy or should I say front heavy.

RE: pro 40 wheelie
Any bow with a 30" stabilizer is going to be a little top heavy without back weights. I bet if you put a hunting length stabilizer on that thing and it would balance just fine. Also if you take a look most professional shooters will have back weights to help offset this problem, might need to look into that.

RE: pro 40 wheelie
I have any offset aep back stabilzer with 2 big weights in it but it still doesn't balence. Oh the front dtabilizer is 24 not 30 sorry. It weighs almost nothing. All of the other bows I have had I put 1 1/2 weights in to balence and this bow I had to take all the weight out and put more in the back. It is not a real problem and from what I have read the new 2004 models balence better. I will have one on order as soon as the store shooter paperwork comes in from Bowtec.

RE: pro 40 wheelie
The 2003's may have been a smidge top-heavy, but nothing like previous years models or the ExVFT or PATs for 2003.
Personally I like some top heaviness in a bow, but I'm wierd like that.:D From everything I'm hearing the 2004's balance superbly P.S. I GOT MY SMILEYS BACK!:D[:-] |
RE: pro 40 wheelie
sigep1967, I recently got a pro 40 wheelie bow and I have no problems with balance. Like JeffB said there are no major changes to the bow for certain reasons but I must tell you if you are useing a 30" stab and some counter stab's you should have no problem with balancing the bow. I really enjoy my wheelie bow. I start my winter 3-d league this sunday........can't wait!!! enjoy the WHEELIE!!:D[8D];):D
