How do you have your nocs set up ?
I was wondering how everyone has there nocing point setup? Personally I have two nocs about 1/2 apart and a cushion button underneath. I used to have just one noc but I like the idea of nothing pushing against the arrow. How do you guys setup up yours if you shoot a loop? How often do you change the loop? The reason i'm asking this is because I am bow shopping and I am wondering if I should get my bow set up a little differently. Thanks for the help-Sam

RE: How do you have your nocs set up ?
I have a tie on nock above and below the arrow nock. I have a string loop on the outside of that.

one brass nock above and below, use a gator jaw double caliper release to mimic a string loop.

Two nock together with a cushion button underneath. Arrow goes inbetween but I'm switching next year to a loop.

One brass nock and a tyed in nock directly above to prevent it from moveing , shoot off the string with no cushion .

RE: How do you have your nocs set up ?
A tie in nock set above and below with a small 1/16" gap between the arrow nock and bottom set........the bottom set is tied double the length of the top @ just about 1/4" vs 1/8" top.
Offset loop tied around both sets........tied very short in overall length. |
RE: How do you have your nocs set up ?
I just have one nock set, then below that the arrow, and then my release. Real simple, no nock pinch and its way faster then a loop. I also have only a 28" draw so I hate to lose a 1/2" of power stroke.
Good Luck! |
RE: How do you have your nocs set up ?
Generally my loops are tied as Matt described, though if I'm in a hurry I'll just use a loop w/ no tie-in nocks.

RE: How do you have your nocs set up ?
I had been shooting with a tied in nockset above the arrow nock and the entire loop below the arrow nock...with good results I might add. But because so many of the new bows I am shooting are an inch under my normal draw length at their maximum setting I have returned to shooting it in a style similar to what Matt and Jeff posted.
