How Do I Adjust My Matthew Bow's Yoke?
 

I need help to adjust my matthews bow's yoke.

In paper tunung the bow, the back of the arrow is striking to the right and creating a tear that is 3-3.5" horizontaly.

The bow is a sinle-cam, Featherlight Max.

Jess: Have you eliminated the other things it could be? Your tear indicates a stiff reaction. Hows your centershot? You might just need to add draw weight or add some point weight. Maybe a little of all three. Whats your complete set up including arrow info?

Thanks for your interest.

I am shooting a Microrest with dual prongs on the bow. the rest is set at 13/16" out from the bow's riser.

T am using Beman ics 340 arrows with 100 grain field tips. They are three-plastic 4" fletch with the "lead" feather pointing down (centered) into the dual prongs.

What we have noticed is that along with the paper tuning problems (rear of arrow cutting to the right by about 3-3 1/2") is that the fletching that is centered downward has rub marks (from the black plastic on right prong) all the way down the side. I even had one fletching cut cleanly off!

We have checked tension on the Microrest as well. Checked the nock position.

Please help.

spread your prongs a little more if you can. Having the fletching hit the rest will throw it off some. Fletching contact will give you problems most of the time.

you may want to check the prongs---are they the same height where the arrow touches it?

Hey Thanks Guys!

I checked the 'gap' and adjusted them slightly more open.

I also contacted the Matthews customer support line and they suggested that I also move the 'center shot' to the left.

I adjusted the center shot 1/8" of an inch after moving it a little less and a little more. It took me over 2 hours of intense testing. I used jock itch spray powder on the last half of the arrow and it told the whole story.

At first I was getting only one side of the last 5 inches with a mark (on the left side) so I adjusted the center shot to the left. I did that until both sides of the arrow had equal amounts of marks (from the dual prongs).

Now my broadheads hit in exactly the same spot as my field tips and the bow makes less noise!
