Liberty VFT Question???

I was wondering if anyone knows the speed of the Liberty VFT set at 80 lbs. at 5 grains per pound at 30" . I' m assuming the ibo speed listed on their website is 70 lbs. (300-308 FPS) I figured the extra 10 lbs would translate into approximately 10-15 fps, but was not sure. If so, the 80 lb Liberty' s speed should be right there with the Patriot SC with the extra 1/2" BH and Freedom Cam!!!!! Thanks for any info.

Actually swamp dawg your shooting an IBO arrow with an IBO draw out of a 80 lb bow...you should be getting the IBO speeds regardless of weight. 5 grains per pound will give you a 400 grain arrow. Yeah, you' ll be sitting in those advertised IBO speeds.

RE: Liberty VFT Question???

Generally the IBO speeds will fluctuate a few FPS different. Dropping to a 60 pound bow, it will usually be a few FPS slower on average, 50 pounds a few FPS slower than that and on an 80 pound a few FPS higher than the 70 pound rating, though that' s not always the case.

I have an 80 pound Liberty ordered (hopefully getting it very soon:D), but I' ll be shooting @ 29" . As soon as I can chrono it, I can let you know and then you can extrapolate an appx. 80/30 speed.

RE: Liberty VFT Question???

I guess I wasn' t thinking when I posted on this one. You are right. 5 gpp is 5gpp whether you are shooting 50, 60, 70, or 80 lbs. I guess the better question would be what is the kinetic energy difference? This is where the 80 pounds probably pays off, I assume. Anyway, I am in the market for a new bow. I keep going back and forth between the Patriot SC and the Liberty. I really like the brace height of the Liberty, but the ibo rating on the Pat looks really good, too. All other specs seem to be fairly equal. I guess I will have to go shoot both to really find out which one shoots better for me!!!
