HELP! Brand New API Stand Creeking
 

I just started useing this stand on November 1 and it makes more creeking noises than any stand I have ever had! I have tried to oil it with cannola oil and it helped some but not enough! I am about ready to contact API (Outland Sports) and give them HE** but before I do any ideas!????????

I' ll bet you have a heck of a time contacting Outland Sports. I don' t think they are in business anymore. Which API stand do you have?

This stand is a baby-grand. I also have a mag-light(API) from Cabelas that has given me no problems, also a API climber with no problems. The more I think about this the mader I get!

I agree with the comment about Outland Sports. They went belly-up if memory serves me. If you bought the stand from Cabelas then I would contact them and try to use their return policy. They are usually pretty good in regard to that stuff.

Unfortunately I bought this stand from a smaller company I' ll have to find the paperwork at home if I still have it!

Must be an aluminum stand. I hate aluminum stands and stopped buying them many seasons ago. No matter what I did to quiet the stands; sooner or later the aluminum would creak, gave off a " dunk" sound without a pad on the platform, flexed too damn much, etc.

However, try putting 2 Teflon washers between every metal part that touches the aluminum.

you' re probably s.o.o.l. the new one are made in china and from what i' ve heard they aren' t worth a damn, but you can only get the new ones from cabelas and b.p.s. so if you got it at a smaller place it was probably a leftover made in the us in which case you' ll have to wait till api starts up again!
