sight or sight pin question
 

I was wondering if it makes a difference if your sight or sight pins are extended farther forward from your bow or if they are set back closer to the riser. Does it help accuracy?

The farther the sights set away from your eye the more the pin gap.Granted,with a long target sight this is prefered, do to the precise nature of the game.This way you can get sight settings for every yard.On a hunting sight I like it close so my pins cover as much of an area as possible.

I'm not exactly an expert on the subject but I believe that the further from the riser the sight is the more accurate it will be. That is with all things being equal, a lot of things effect accuracy. I think it's like comparing pistol sights vs. rifle sights.
For hunting bows they are usually closer to the riser to protect them from damage in the field. Ever get your sight caught up in a bush or branch?

I agree with Il-Cornfed, for hunting purposes, I like them close. This also helps to settle the pin better. Its sort of like a scope at high power on a gun. Every little move is magnified at high power, just as when the sight pins are farther out from the bow.
