Arrow rest problems?
I have a Nap Quiktune 1000 shoot through, prong style arrow rest. I have heat shrink tubing on each prong to silence the arrow when drawing the bow. I have noticed that the shrink tubing on the right prong gets almost 100% of the wear. In fact, I almost never have to replace the tubing on the left prong, but have to replace the tubing on the right prong every 50-100 shots.
What could be causing this? Shouldn' t the heat shrink tubing wear equally on both the left and right prong? Could this be due to torquing the bow? Could my centershot be too far right or left? Could this simply be the way my Mathews Q2 shoots? If I can manage to get a near perfect bullet hole in paper tuning should this be something I need to worry about or should I just keep replacing the right prong silencer? |
RE: Arrow rest problems?
I once faced the same thing, shooting same prongs and shrinking tube.
After being 100% about left right adjustments i thought it was torgue to. Arrows begin to spin some 2 or 3 feet after they are released from the string, so it could not be like the arrow was ' turning against one prong. Than i stept back in spraying dry-shampoo on the arrow and looked closely for scratch marks. In my case it turned out i did it myself when i was releasing the bow. I was trowing it a little to the side, not following up in the shot. When i started to pay attention to this, the scratch marks where more even and the shrinking tube on both prongs wear the same to. Maybe it can work you to? Good luck in trying. |
