To limb saver or not to limb saver?

What I'm wondering is:
If I install limb savers on a bow will they slow down my fps. arrows speeds. Or will they improve fps by reducing shock?
Will they give me more kinetic energy?
What are all the + & - ?

no speed increase so you get nothing in KE, they will reduce the noise of the shot. really it depends on the bow, some will seem quiter than others after you pu tthem on.

what you do is buy the limbsavers. shoot your bow with out like 4 times. then put them on and shoot 4 more times. pay attention to the feel in the riser and the vibrations of the bow, realy listen to the noise both times if you dont like them send them back. personaly ive put them on every bow i have. i had a limb crack once and the manufactrue {sp] asked if i had limbsavers on it. which i dident.

All my bows will have them on. Even if there is a slight gain in weight, they are worth it! I'm not sure of any loss in KE with them, if anything, I think the gain on bow effeciency would be worth more than a loss of 1 or 2 fps or pounds of KE. Shot placement is more important.

Limb savers are one of the few products that are worth every penny, and then some. They will realy quiet a bow down, and I think they will help reduce some wear and tear by absorbing some of the extra energy that your arrow doesn't.

I have never heard of limb savers causing a loss of speed. I dont think they will gain you any either. In any case, I will never be with out them on my bow. They are an awsome product.

The first time I installed Limb Savers on a bow (Bear Superstrike), I swear I could hear my Wynn C-10 release snap open on every shot, and that was about it! I have only owned one bow that I considered a little noisy after installing Limb Savers, and that was only while shooting arrows that were under 6 grains per pound. I have heard that shock fins do an even better job reducing noise, but I have not tried them yet.

I use the limb savers, string leaches, cable dampener, and a teflon slide. What noise?
They are great. Wouldn't have a bow without them

I have found that the Shockfins work better for noise and vibration. They also outlast the LS.

they really helped make my bow smoother and did not affect speed.
