PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
i' m shooting a martin panther magnum set at 70lbs with a 29 inch draw. I' m shooting easton xx75 2314' s with 100 grain tips. The sight i am using is a cobra electra-slide. Here' s my problem. My arrows are shooiting are about 30 inches high at 20 yards but my sight is topped out. I can' t raise it anymore. I can move my knocking point up to compensate but then i' m out of tune (porposing). I' m shooting a tm style rest and if i move the move the prongs down my fletching hits the little aluminum piece that holds the prongs. Does anyone know how tto fix this? Please help me!!!!!
thanks alot, nate |
RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
Only thing I can suggest is adjust your peep sight and head position. You can do that minutely without changing your anchor point. You' d be surprised how much point of impact change you can have just by lifting or lowering your head a little bit. Try moving your head up or down a bit and look " thru" the string. If either gives you the desired results, just move your peep down to the point. That should fix the problem.
I had that problem many years ago, but for the life of me I can' t remember if I moved my head up or down to fix the problem. I' m a finger shooter and my index finger always anchored in the corner of my mouth. |
RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
When looking through the peep do you have to tilt your head forward?
Try closing your eyes come to full draw with your head in a natural position anchor like normal. Now open your eyes if you have to move your head to see through the peep then move the peep in the direction you moved your head. By the sound of it your peep could be too low the above will confirm. |
RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
my peep is as low as it will go. if i raise it it will make me shoot higher. done tried the peep thing, sorry for not mentioning it earlier. so i have no idea of what it could be. i thought i tried every thing possible but there has to be a solution.
thanks for the info though |
RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
Nate.
Can you take the sight ring off the front of the sight and move it up? Also can you explain your anchor points. |
RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
i think i can take my sight ring off, not sure though. i' m using a kisser button in the corner of my mouth as an anchor point. i even moved that down till the vanes were almost hitting my chin.

RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
Does the string touch the middle of your nose as another anchor point?
You not anywhere near me are you? If you are we can hook up and I can see if I can fix the problem> |
RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
make sure your nocking pt. is 90 degrees----if you are hitting that high and say there is no more adjustment to move your housing up you got to change your anchor pt. are you shooting multiple pins or a single pin set up.if you are using multiple pins instead of using the top pin drop down to your third pin and use it for your 20 yard sight then take the top two and add them below your third pin.this will raise your sighting in pt.make sure like it was mentioned to anchor with your eyes closed and the string sitting at the tip of your nose then open your eyes that is where your peep should line up at

RE: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
Looks to me like there are about 6 different holes to mount the site bracket. If it were a multiple pin site I' d call it a gang adjustment. There also appears to be a slotted gang adjustment of sorts. Looks like you should have ample room for adjusting the pin higher.
