Hoyt & Muzzy ZE ???
 

Ok guys I just got back from the pro shop
I fired the havoctec and cybertec I like the cybertec a lot but here is the problem
When I told them I wanted the muzzy ZE rest he done his hardest to talk me out of it and getting another brand (nap) which he sells.
His price for the bare bow was a $90 higher than another shop but untill now I have liked his service.
He also told me that if i do go for the muzzy then I would have to pay extra to have them install it and set the bow up.
I was on the understanding that if you buy a new bow the shop would set it up at no extra cost apart from the price of what I want on it
Is there any reason why he would want to try and talk me out of getting the ZE??
From what I have heard the ZE is the best fall away rest
So far all he has basically done is talk himself out of a sale

Based on the information that you gave us, I would also assume that the cost of installation for the MZE would be included in the price of the bow. That is the way we work. The only time we would charge more is if there would be some special machining or modifications to install a part. In the case of the MZE, all he has to do is get the special "tec" bracket.

It sounds like he doesn't have much experience with the MZE. After you've installed hundreds, it becomes almost 2nd nature. Nothing against any other fall away rest; but, they are not quite the same as a Muzzy if hunting is your primary game.

Len - can you provide some additional info please???

I put a MZE on my BowTech Pro38 & finally have it set up properly & I really love it. I bought one for my dad to put on his new HavocTEC - I was going to install it for him because we can't find pro-shops w/experience. 1) What's the 'TEC' bracket?

2) Will the Muzzy 'default' recommendations for setup work properly? (On my BT I had to move the mounting bolt to the 'back' hole, hook to back hole etc. to set it up when the instructions called for the center hole.)

I've already had one TBS too short & don't want to make the same mistake 2x!

You do need to get the &quot;Tec&quot; bracket that does away with the overdraw.
As far as the instructions, everything should be about the same.
You just have to make sure that when the ZE is moving it is not coming into contact with the riser.

Hey Len,
I have a question too!! My friend went to the AMO show and he talked to a man and woman that do ZE installations for Muzzy. They told him the alignment of the turnbuckle arm to the cable slide was not that critical. Surely this can't be right??

Don't know if you caught my post thanking you for your help a week or so ago. I was a little late returning and posting.

I had to trick my bow to get the turnbuckle to line up with the cable slide by using a 1/4&quot; spacer between the stud and turnbuckle arm. It helped with the alignment, but you could tell it still was not in a perfect line. Among other problems (because of my short draw length and the bow being a hoyt), I had to get back in touch with Muzzy for more assistance. They sent me an aftermarket cable guard I have to use to properly install the rest. I'll be spending some time tonight or tomorrow trying to set it up again. I'd say the turnbuckle arm and the cable slide definitely have to line up to get the most out of the rest.

No problem! As for the alignment, I think it should be lined up as straight as possible even if it means using the bent cable slide. The straighter it is, the longer it will last and the more efficient it will be. IMO
