Peep serving ?

I had a new peep put on string. The shop tech put serving above and below peep. He then told me I can adjust it up and down by pushing it up or down. Should the serving be that loose?

Thanks

He/she probably used a slip tie serving. It's what I use as well. It is plenty tight to hold the peep in place. If it is served properly, it will require pressure on the bottom of the serving to even move. The outward pressure of the strings on the serving at the peep is what tightens it up so basically, unless you push from either the bottom or the top, it wont be able to move at all.

That's what I do also. But then when I have it exactly where I want it I also tie the peep itself to the string on both sides. If you don't have serving material, waxed dental floss is a good alternative.
