MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
Been looking alot at the drop away rests and was wondering if anyone had any advice as to which one is better the Muzzy or the Trophie Ridge.

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I have 2 MZE' s and they work great IMO the best hunting fall a away there is;)

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I guess the " which is best" question is the same for rest and bows and broadheads. What might be great for one bowhunter, may not suit another. I cannot comment on the Trophy Ridge, as I have never owned one, but I have heard a lot of great responses from those that do. I personally have the MZE, and I love it. It works very well for me and my set up.

Can you honestly say to your self when you pick up that Trophy ridge drop zone that it is worth spending a hundred bucks on? I sure can' t! I can think of a number of rests that work at least as well as the drop zone and cost about half as much.
Trophy taker; NAP QT 2000 and 4000; Muzzy; GKF mirrage just to name a few. Good luck on your decision. |

Muzzy ZE works great for me. I would highly reccomend.

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
Since I' ve had experiance with both rests, stick with the MZE.I had a MZE on my Parker-Hunter Mag,Q2,and my LX(which I' m using now).I had the T-R Drop-Zone on my 03 SC Patriot, and tried it out on the LX.Stay with the MZE,IMHO....Bob

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I use the MZE and have had great results, arrow flight is so much cleaner than the prong style rest I was using (not a dropaway). Can' t comment on the Trophy Ridge. The one thing I really like about the Muzzy is that its almost impossible for the arrow to fall off the rest. You would have to have a VERY serious case of buck fever to shake it off! ;)

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I have a muzzy ZE and I like the rest, shooting better groups than with a prong style. I would say make sure it is set up by someone who knows what they are doing, mine wasn' t done right at the shop and I spend hours till I finally eliminated the fletch contact.

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
Thanks for all the great advice!!! :DWent and bought the Muzzy for my Legacy. Any advice onseting it up on this bow?
|
RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
Doesn' t the legacy have a roller guard? Did you get the roller guard version of the MZE?
|
RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I got the one made for thee roller gaurd but now I just have to figure out how to put it on. Starts out lookin gnot to tough but ....we' ll just have to see. I gues they actually make 3 different versions of it now, one for the Mathews roller gaurdss, one for the Hoyt riser and one for everone else.

If it came with the video then watch the video a couple of times before you start to set it up.

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
slbowman,SERVE the cable where the cable attachment attaches to the cable, trust me,it makes a much better connection. If you don' t,after x-number of shots, the attachment can work loose. In talking to Muzzy, they are taking steps to correct this, that is,if they have' nt already.I' ve had my MZE on my LX since June, and back then,Erick at Muzzy told me that they were making adjustments to the newer models...Bob

RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I have 2 muzzy' s and love them I wouldnt have anytning else.
|
RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
I feel the Muzzy is the better choise , they work diffrently, the muzzy is a push down rest and the trophy ridge is a dropaway. The push away is a little more dependable. Iv' e also heard that the Trophy ridge isn' t made that well. I' ve picked them up and played with them and they did seem alittle pricey for what you got.
The muzzy is rock solid. Jim |
RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
Put a DropZone on my Bowtech and like it just fine. Plenty of fletch clearance and I use 5" plastic. Setup was a snap too.
|
RE: MuzzyZero effect verse Trophie Ridge Drop Zone
you all talked me into the MZE , brought it home and installed it the other night. Setup took a little doing. Watched the video a couple of times and reread the instruction sheet, but got it done. WOW what a difference!! Just changing the rest decreased the size of my groups by a good couple of inches. I stand inpressed!!![:-]
Thanks for all the great advice!!!:D |
